Lot Scheduling: Review
摘要
This chapter provides a review of related studies in the field of lot scheduling in the last decade. One machine can process more than one customer order in a single lot with uniform lot processing time. The lot processing mode has extensive applications, in which machines such as integrated circuit testers and heating containers process orders in lots. In practice, one manufacturer may receive customized orders that demand different quantities of products. The manufacturer shall determine how to divide orders into multiple processing lots under the constraint of limited lot capacity and also decide the processing sequence of lots. Lot scheduling has not only valuable applications but also important theoretical significance. Recently, this field has received increasing attention with emerging meaningful results. This work provides a comprehensive introduction to the research progress of lot scheduling, summarizing existing results and uncovering new interesting issues. The review aims to provide a useful reference in this field and help interested readers quickly access and understand the latest progress of this domain.
