Hyperlipidemia is a high-risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. So, there is an increase in natural lipid-lowering agents. This study investigated the anti-hypolipidemic potential of selected plant leaf extracts using in vitro and in vivo assays. Phytochemical screening confirmed the presence of bioactive compounds responsible for the lipid-lowering effect, such as flavonoids, alkaloids, and saponins. The extract gave the result on hyperlipidemia animal models, significantly lowering total cholesterol, triglycerides, and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) levels while increasing high-density lipoprotein (HDL) levels. The enzymatic assays and histopathological studies add support to the therapeutic efficacy of the extract. This work suggests that the plant leaf extract has potential anti-hypolipidemic activity, which will be followed for the future development of natural lipid-lowering therapeutics.

摘要
