Extraction of Bioactive Compounds from Leaf: Essential Oils
摘要
Essential oils (EOs) are aromatic compounds valued for their therapeutic, antioxidant, and antimicrobial properties. Growing demand for natural, eco-friendly products has driven interest in sustainable extraction methods. This review highlights bioactive EOs from plant leaves, comparing traditional and emerging green extraction techniques. Emphasis is placed on advanced techniques like supercritical fluid, enzyme, and microwave extraction for their efficiency, reduced processing time, and preservation of bioactive compounds. Comparative analyses offer guidance for optimizing EO extraction in industrial and pharmaceutical applications.
