Cytogenetically visible copy number variants (= CG-CNVs) have been known for decades. Here we summarize CNVs that are known from array CGH studies, but can get so large that they become visible in banding cytogenetics as enlarged GTG-positive and/or negative bands. The eight most frequently observed euchromatic CG-CNVs are summarized, and their molecular coordinates are given. This allows corresponding locus-specific probes to be selected or synthesized accordingly.

摘要

Cytogenetically visible copy number variants (= CG-CNVs) have been known for decades. Here we summarize CNVs that are known from array CGH studies, but can get so large that they become visible in banding cytogenetics as enlarged GTG-positive and/or negative bands. The eight most frequently observed euchromatic CG-CNVs are summarized, and their molecular coordinates are given. This allows corresponding locus-specific probes to be selected or synthesized accordingly.
