Case Conceptualization in CBT: Clinical Maps Helping Practitioners and Patients Find Their Way
摘要
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is often misunderstood as a treatment approach characterized by a mash-up of techniques. However, CBT is fundamentally guided by case conceptualization. In this chapter, case conceptualization is viewed as a clinical Global Positioning System piloting the selection, sequencing, and timing of interventions. The unique and transtheoretical components of case formulations are presented. The process of drafting a case conceptualization is outlined. Finally, a detailed treatment plan directed by the case conceptualization is illustrated.
