CBT with Youth: Catchers in the Rye
摘要
CBT is a long-standing frontrunner in treatment of youth with psychological disorders. This text enumerates all the ways in which that is still true, as well as all the growth that is happening. Any science unwilling to undergo regular and repeated evaluation is destined to be left in the past. Contrary to resting on their laurels, CBT clinical researchers continue to investigate relevance and identify novel applications to extant treatment protocols. This chapter illustrates the numerous contributions that the text makes to today’s landscape of CBT for young patients. Consistent across chapters are authors’ insistence that case conceptualization is imperative, developmental application is essential, and, above all, before assuming treatment is failing, double check whether therapy is faithfully attending to the requisite targets. Each chapter includes a range of creative activities, innovative exercises, astute scripts, and troubleshooting tips. Readers of this text are sure to keep their copy on a shelf very close to their treatment space, for easy reference and apt guidance!
