Antidiabetic Properties of Medicinal Mushrooms

Alpha-amylase and alpha-glucosidase inhibition assays are used to assess the mushroom extract’s potential in inhibiting enzymes to lower blood glucose levels. This protocol is relatively simple and easy to perform, requiring only a spectrophotometer. In addition to in vitro assays, in vivo studies are conducted using diabetic animal models to further evaluate the efficacy of the extracts.
