Molecular Identification of Entomopathogenic Fungi With Special Reference to Ophiocordyceps sinensis
摘要
Cordyceps sinensis is an entomopathogenic fungus boasted of its tremendous medicinal attributes. It is commonly known as caterpillar fungus and termed “Himalayan Viagra” for its aphrodisiac properties. Fungal identification requires a detailed study of its micromorphological and macromorphological characters because most mushrooms share an overlapping character within the group. The chapter will provide a detailed protocol for the molecular identification of Cordyceps sinensis.
