Screening of Endosymbionts for Virucidal Activity
摘要
Endosymbiotic microorganisms from various host organisms have emerged as promising sources of novel antiviral compounds. This chapter describes methods for screening endosymbionts from diverse hosts, including insects, plants, marine invertebrates, and mammals, for virucidal activity against model viruses. The protocol includes techniques for preparing endosymbiont extracts, conducting plaque reduction assays, and performing preliminary characterization of active compounds.
