Antibiotic resistance is a widespread health challenge that involves the transfer of bacterial pathogens and antimicrobial resistance genes to other organisms, including humans. The evolutionary mutations or the antibiotic-induced mutation in bacterial pathogens that led to the development of antibiotic resistance are hard to predict necessitating a deep knowledge and understanding to manage the development of antibiotic resistance crisis. Here, we present a basic protocol to identify antibiotic resistance in bacterial strains by quantifying the turbidity of the bacterial suspension. This is achieved after the addition of different concentrations of antibiotic referring to the observations and calculating the minimum inhibitory concentration of the antibiotic.

摘要
