Kigelia africana, commonly known as the sausage tree, due to the shape of its fruit is highly of ecological, ornamental, and medicinal importance. This plant belongs to the family of Bignoniaceae and is native to different African continents. The species possesses large red-colored flowers and large fruits hanging down on rope-like stacks. Many secondary metabolites have been isolated from the different parts of the plant which involves various biological properties. This plant could be used as an analgesic, antipyretic, anti-malarial, hepato-protective properties widely. The main importance of plants comes in the cosmetics industry and in the treatment of various skin diseases. Considering the importance of this plant in ecology, decoration, and medicine, high priority should be given to its conservation. Cryopreservation is a method for preserving live cells or tissues for a long term without any damage in liquid nitrogen (−196 °C). Pollen cryopreservation is an easily approachable method for the conservation of plants. This chapter deals with the procedures involved such as extraction of pollen, dehydration, germination of pollens, cryopreservation, and germination of pollens after cryopreserving. This also deals with the concentration and composition of the medium used for the process of germination. Analysis of the pollen structure is also carried out in this protocol through a scanning electron microscope.
