Salmonella enterica serovar Enteritidis represents a significant global public health concern. It is recognized as the most prevalent Salmonella serotype responsible for salmonellosis outbreaks associated with poultry, eggs, and egg-related products. The loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) technique is an innovative and user-friendly detection method that rapidly, efficiently, and specifically amplifies DNA under constant temperature conditions. Here we present a LAMP protocol designed for the detection of Salmonella ser. Enteritidis using egg products as an example, which could be verified and extended to other types of samples. This protocol has been validated internally for inclusivity and exclusivity, with a detection limit of 1 CFU/25 g egg products and 1 CFU/1000 g liquid eggs with enrichment. The run time is about 35 min. This LAMP method allows the simultaneous analysis of up to eight samples including controls in a single run.
