Detection of Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) in Embryos

The detection of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in embryos can be achieved using the fluorescent dye DCFH-DA (dichloro-dihydro-fluorescein diacetate). Upon entering the cell, DCFH-DA is deacetylated to DCFH, which is then oxidized by ROS, leading to the emission of fluorescence. This method provides a reliable means to assess ROS levels in living embryos.
