Dilution end point is an important property of viruses, which is often exploited to determine virulence of a virus. The concentration of viruses in any infected sample will differ depending on different parameters. Studying the dilution end point of a plant virus is one of the most basic steps in plant virology to study the infectivity of the concerned virus (Naidu and Hughes, Plant virology in Sub Saharan Africa, 2003). The protocol given below is a basic and simple method to easily detect the dilution end point of a virus in any plant virology laboratory.
