Isolation and Identification of Coumarins from Citrus latifolia Leaves Using Advanced Chromatographic Techniques
摘要
Coumarins are a class of natural compounds that exhibit a wide range of biological activities, which include anticoagulant, anti-inflammatory, anticancer, and antimicrobial effects. This class of compounds has drawn considerable interest in recent years. The exploration of such properties contributes to our understanding of the potential of coumarins as valuable agents in various clinical applications. Thus, several scientific articles providing a comprehensive exploration of the isolation of coumarins from various plant species have been published. Therefore, this chapter presents an already tested protocol that ensures the effective extraction and isolation of different coumarins from leaves of Citrus latifolia, achieved by liquid and planar chromatography. The identification of coumarins is performed by TLC and 1H NMR analysis.
