Techno-Economic Analysis of Plant Protein Production
摘要
As the demand for sustainable and environmentally friendly protein sources increases, plant-based proteins have emerged as a promising alternative to animal-derived proteins. The techno-economic analysis (TEA) plays a pivotal role in evaluating the economic feasibility and commercial viability of plant protein production processes. This chapter presents a TEA framework tailored for protein production from brewer’s spent grain (BSG), offering a comprehensive evaluation of production costs, market potential, and variables that can affect the product price. Critical technical data is collected from lab experiments, and SuperPro Designer is utilized as the process simulation tool for the techno-economic assessment of the technological configuration.
