The following clinical vignettes were drafted and modified to represent various clinical scenarios of severe acute infections. Infectious disease consultants and other relevant specialties including but not limited to general surgery, interventional radiology, gynecology, and neurosurgery were commonly involved in the multidisciplinary care of these severe acute infections.
