Morphological and anatomical investigations contribute basic information on the experimental system of interest. This chapter provides information on the common histological techniques used to study orchid protocorms. Selected literature showcases the contributions of histological techniques in studying protocorm biology. Histological studies will continue contributing to our understanding of asymbiotic and symbiotic protocorm development.
