In Vitro Antidiabetic Activity Methods

Bioactive compounds from biological matrices exhibit a multitude of health-promoting benefits, including the management of diabetic complications. Inhibition of both α-glucosidase and α-amylase enzymes from bioactive-rich extracts could be considered an effective complementary therapy for postprandial hyperglycemia. This document provides a comprehensive explanation of commonly used in vitro assays to evaluate the antidiabetic activity of extracts as a first approach.
