Glycosides Quantification of Saffron Flower
摘要
The whole flowers of Crocus sativus L. are sources natural of bioactive compounds, among which glycosylated compounds are the most prominent. These compounds are of interest to the nutraceutical, phytopharmaceutical, and cosmetic industries. Furthermore, from the concentration of the compounds of interest, both in the stigma and in the rest of the flower, the quality of the whole flower can be assessed, which is directly related to the quality of the corms from which it originates. Thus, a High-Performance Liquid Chromatography-Diode Array Detection (HPLC-DAD) method was proposed, developed, and validated.
