DNA Isolation from Single Ciliate Isolate
摘要
Ciliates are a large complicated class of protists existing in all ecosystems. They possess a dimorphic nucleus that is a diploid micronucleus and a polyploid macronucleus. Ciliate can immensely contribute to solving the evolutionary puzzle. High-throughput sequencing methods used for evolutionary studies demand high-purity DNA. Here we explain the method of genomic DNA isolation from ciliates through the steps of cell lysis, extraction, and precipitation.
