EEG/fNIRS
摘要
Electroencephalogram (EEG) and the functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) are non-invasive methods to investigate the brain activity in real time. The first is a well-established technique employed both in clinical and research fields. The latter is mainly used by the research community in the field of neuroscience to evaluate the brain activity through the variation of hemoglobin levels measure. After the description of EEG and fNIRS, this chapter has been focused on the recent combination of both the techniques to have a more detailed description of the brain functioning in processing information. Specifically, to provide a more useful tool for clinicians and researchers, an in-deep discussion on advantages and disadvantages of the combined use EEG and fNIRS co-recording has been reported.
