Immunomodulatory Activity of Postbiotics in Pigs

摘要

Pig feces are high in nutrients and may be utilized to make effective fertilizers for agricultural productivity as well as recycled into animal diets. The probiotic produces an active molecule known as a postbiotic. Lactobacillus sp. are common bacteria found in animal intestines. They are also commonly used as probiotics for both animals and humans. Lactobacillus reuteri was previously identified and used in pelleted feeding studies as a probiotic additive. Between days 30 and 45, probiotic-fed pigs had higher body weights than control pigs (p < 0.05). Granulocytes isolated from the liver and peripheral blood of probiotic-fed pigs had higher phagocytosis than control piglets. In recent times, the use of probiotics in swine has been proposed to greatly enhance their safety, immunity, specific growth rate, nutrition digestibility, and gut microorganism management balance. The results of this study indicated that L. reuteri may be added to pig pelleted feed as a probiotic addition.
