Anti-Allergy Activity of Postbiotics
摘要
The use of viable lactic acid bacteria for the well-being of an individual’s gut health is a well-known fact. In this chapter, we explore the ideas of probiotics, prebiotics, and a new field called postbiotics. The study of postbiotics deals with the use of metabolic products of a probiotic or nonviable/heat-killed bacteria, which could confer health benefits like antioxidant, anti-allergic, or immunomodulatory functions. We also investigate the meaning of an allergy, the basic pathophysiology of an allergy, and how typical allergic responses like peanut allergy and dust mite allergy advance and the use of certain strains of nonviable bacteria, which have been proven to have anti-allergenic effects on the body. We also look into certain protocols for the same.
