摘要

Postbiotics are probiotic microorganisms that have been killed and can be employed in pharmaceutical and other antimicrobial applications. Postbiotics can also be used to treat a variety of clinical infections caused by microorganisms such as bacteria, fungus, protozoa, etc. Postbiotics can be used to treat protozoan infections such Giardiasis, Trypanosomiasis, and Leishmaniasis. The popular probiotic bacteria Lactobacillus sp. is employed commercially in many areas of health aspects. One of the ways that probiotic bacteria are thought to benefit the host is by producing antimicrobials, most likely by preventing the growth and colonization of harmful protozoans. This study uses an animal model to briefly describe the use of postbiotics in treating protozoan infections.
