摘要

A suitable method is frequently selected for identification of postbiotics based on the analytical objectives and the type of characterization needed. Several methods have been developed and are utilized for the qualitative and quantitative assessment of postbiotics. Different analytical techniques are currently being used to identify postbiotic metabolites. The choice of techniques and analytical tools for the identification and characterization of postbiotics depends on the analytical goals and qualitative and/or quantitative characteristics of microbial metabolite complexes. Numerous analytical techniques have just lately been employed to examine the chemical composition of postbiotics. The primary methods used for a qualitative and quantitative examination of postbiotics include spectroscopic methods, Thin-Layer Chromatography (TLC), Gas Chromatography (GC), and High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). This chapter discusses about the GC-MS analysis and antimicrobial activity for characterization and identification of postbiotics.
