Belopolsky, Aristarkh Apollonovich

  • Thomas J. Bogdan

摘要

Aristarkh Belopolsky was a pioneer in the application of spectroscopy, and especially radial velocity measurements, to the study of the stars and planets. His interests and seminal contributions ranged from studies of the solar corona, rotation and sunspots to the stars, novae, asteroids, comets, and planets. He was the first to verify the Doppler-Fizeau effect in the laboratory (Bélopolsky, Astrophys J 13:15–24, 1901).
