Burland, Miriam Seymour

Miriam Burland was a member of the Stellar Physics Division of the Dominion Observatory in Ottawa, Canada, and was the first woman appointed to that section. Her first area of research was photometry of Cepheid variables, but later she became, in effect, the public relations officer of the Observatory and was also active in arranging professional-amateur cooperation in the observation of meteors.
