Webster, B. Louise
摘要
Betty Louise Turtle, née Webster, was an Australian astronomer who studied planetary nebulae and other stellar phenomena through techniques of optical and radio astronomy, using telescopes in Australia, the USA, South Africa, and the UK. Several of her scientific papers are highly cited, including ones based on her thesis, and her co-discovery of the black hole in Cygnus X-1. In the second part of her career, back in her home country, she was an admired university teacher and an influential figure in Australian astronomy.
