摘要

Edith Marie Kellman was a photographic assistant for William W. Morgan and Philip C. Keenan at Yerkes Observatory. Her work at processing and cataloging their spectral images was considered essential to the success of the project and she was included as an author in their initial publication, An Atlas of Stellar Spectra with an Outline of Spectral Classification (Morgan et al. Annual Review of Astronomy and Astrophysics 11: 29–50, 1943). Morgan and Keenan (Annual Review of Astronomy and Astrophysics 11: 29–50) extended and expanded their research and published an updated catalog that did not cite Kellman. Today, their catalog is known as the MK System, but also is recognized as the MKK System.
