Mapping Environmental Vulnerability to Oil Spills and Other Anthropogenic Impacts in the Russian Part of Southeastern Baltic Sea
摘要
An integrated assessment of the vulnerability of Russian waters in the Southeastern Baltic Sea was carried out, a series of maps characterizing the environmental vulnerability of water areas and coasts to technogenic impact were obtained. The aspects of the sensitivity of the ecosystems under consideration and the nature of their response to the most probable for the region types of impact (an accidental oil spill and discharge/removal of bottom sediments in marine areas) are formalized and visualized. The results of the obtained cartographic data analysis allow make a number of recommendations for planning work related to dredging, dumping, and other types of technogenic impact on the coastal-marine ecosystems of the Southeastern Baltic Sea.
