Strategy of Forest Management in Relation to Climate Change: Case Study in SFA Forest Pilot Sites
摘要
Global climate change, which is mainly characterized by global warming and the increase of atmospheric CO2 concentration, is changing the structure and function of terrestrial ecosystem. Forest play a very important role in the climate system. Forest carbon sequestration is considered as a possible mechanism and the most promising choice to mitigate global climate change, and forest management is a key factor to mitigate the impact of climate change. In this chapter, the background and working thought of forest management to deal with climate change is put forward basing on the cooperation framework of “Climate change and Forestry” reached by the Climate Change Working Group of the China-US Strategic and Economic Dialogue in 2015. Then research method system, multi-objective forest management planning, and multi-functional forest management model are raised and applied in CETF. Finally, the effects of management against climate change and forest management policy are discussed.
