Lipogenic Tumours of Bone
摘要
Malignant lipogenic tumours are the rarest primary bone tumours; however, the benign lipogenic tumours are not as uncommon. Although certain features such as lucent lesion with central calcification in the anterior os calcis are considered pathognomonic of intraossous lipoma, confirmation of fat composition of a bone is carried out by standard MR imaging or CT. Chemical shift and Dixon imaging are extremely helpful in evaluating intralesional fat in cases where standard sequences may be equivocal. Imaging findings of different lipomatous osseous lesions, namely, intraosseous lipoma and its variants, haemangiomas, parosteal lipoma and osseous liposarcoma, would be discussed including atypical findings and sinister features, such as cortical destruction and associated soft tissue mass, which would merit a biopsy.
