Bone tumours affecting the hand and wrist are rare. The majority of bone tumours that affect the hand are benign. There are however a broad range of primary bone tumours which may occur in the hand and wrist, and these are discussed in detail in this chapter. The most frequent benign lesion is enchondroma, and the most common malignant lesion is chondrosarcoma. Clinical examination and radiography are often sufficient to allow an accurate diagnosis in the majority of cases at this site with knowledge of their imaging characteristics important in diagnosis.
