Injuries Specific to Instrumental Music and Radiological Features: Non-percussion Instruments
摘要
Non-percussion musicians—those who play string, wind, and keyboard instruments—are frequently exposed to physical demands that may lead to musculoskeletal injuries. Unlike percussionists, whose injuries often stem from impact and vibration, non-percussionists are at risk due to repetitive motions, awkward postures, prolonged static positions, and asymmetrical use of the body. These conditions are often exacerbated by inadequate ergonomics, intense practice schedules, and performance anxiety. This chapter explores the various types of injuries associated with playing non-percussion instruments, highlighting their causes, manifestations, and management. Drawing on clinical studies, musician testimonies, and ergonomic principles, this chapter also discusses preventive strategies and rehabilitation techniques tailored for the musical population.
