Playing-related musculoskeletal (MSK) disorders are prevalent among musicians due to the repetitive and demanding nature of instrumental performance. Interventional radiology offers a patient-specific, minimally invasive approach to managing these musculoskeletal complaints, utilising modalities such as ultrasound, CT, and fluoroscopy for both diagnosis and to guide treatment. Techniques including corticosteroid injections, dry needling, nerve hydrodissection, and orthobiologic therapies are tailored to specific pathologies, with the aim of providing symptomatic relief, whilst minimising the risk of complication, as well as time away from performance. Ultrasound is particularly valuable for due to its lack of ionising radiation, real-time capabilities, and exceptional soft tissue resolution. These interventions not provide pain relief, but also support musicians in maintaining performance and career longevity, underscoring the growing role of interventional radiology in occupational musculoskeletal care.
