Imaging of the Bony Pelvis: Congenital and Developmental Abnormalities

A spectrum of congenital and developmental abnormalities can affect the pelvis. These include agenesis, development dysplasia of hip, coxa vara, slipped upper capital epiphysis, and Perthes. This chapter reviews the embryology of the bony pelvis, normal variants, and important congenital and developmental disorders of the pediatric pelvis and hip.
