Glioma is a diverse group of cancers that arise from brain supporting cells. Glioblastoma (GBM), group of diffuse gliomas, is characterized by low survival rate despite therapeutic approaches which include surgical resection, radiotherapy, and adjuvant chemotherapy with temozolomide. Due to the poor outcomes of current treatment strategies, it is critical to improve treatment options. Considering the favorable safety profile, low molecular weight, and lower costs of natural compounds, the use of dietary nutrients to improve prognosis for patients with GBM and increase overall survival is now an appealing field of investigation. A wide range of natural compounds, including alkaloids, curcuminoids, and flavonoids, have been investigated for their potential against gliomas with promising results; however, more research is needed to fully understand them.
