Recent Progress and Prospects of Immunotherapy in Multidrug-Resistant and Metastatic Breast Cancer Treatment
摘要
Although chemotherapy and mAbs are widely used in breast cancer treatment, these therapy approaches are allied with side effects and recurrence. US FDA has approved immunotherapy Keytruda in combination with chemotherapy for irresectable metastatic triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) in 2020. Recent developments in different immunotherapy modalities have shown promise in breast cancer treatment to reduce mortality. Further, multifunctional nanoparticles for siRNA delivery strategies are prospective to make momentous advancement in breast cancer immunotherapy. Utilization of immunotherapies in combination approach may cause immune-related adverse effects. Further investigations to progress immunotherapies, combined chemo-immunotherapies, patient response to immunotherapies, and exclusion of immune-related side effects are essential.
