Article 90 [Common Transport Policy]

The text of the TFEU Part III, Title VI (ex-Title IV TEC) on transport is an almost identical, but renumbered, copy of its homologue formulation in the original TEC. The substantive difference between the original and the present wording of the provisions primarily relates to the altered decision-making process (Article 91 TFEU), as interlinked with the standstill provision (Article 92 TFEU) and the transition period (ex-Article 8 TEC) phasing the gradual integration of the EU through transition from national protectionism and public monopolies (in air and rail transport and in road passenger transport) to free trade and free market access.
