Article 127 TFEU is the key provision in Chapter 2, “Monetary Policy”, of Title VIII TFEU (Economic and Monetary Policy) for it lays down the objectives (paragraph 1) and tasks (paragraphs 2, 3 and 5) of the European System of Central Banks (ESCB) and the supervisory role of the ECB (paragraph 6).
