The Clinical Development of Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors in Combination with Targeted Therapy in Breast Cancer
摘要
Despite the successful clinical development of PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors in cancer treatment, only a small group of patients with breast cancer derive benefit from these agents. Therefore, additional mechanisms might be involved in the evasion of anticancer immunity leading to immunotherapy resistance in breast cancer. Different studies are addressing immune checkpoint inhibitors in combination with targeted treatment, mainly in metastatic disease. In this chapter, we will present the current clinical development of these combination strategies in breast cancer.
