摘要

Carboxymethyl chitosan (CMC) is one of the important water-soluble derivatives of chitosan which has been widely used for various biomedical applications. CMC can be easily processed into nanoparticles, microparticles, hydrogels, scaffolds, nanofibers, etc. Electrospun nanofibrous matrices have emerged as a promising strategy for wound dressing, tissue engineering, and drug delivery applications. Electrospinning of water-soluble CMC is challenging and required additional binder. Electrospun CMC nanofibers have potential applications in drug delivery, wound healing and tissue engineering area. Therefore, in this book chapter we briefly explain the electrospinning methods of carboxymethyl chitosan and its biomedical applications in detail.
