  • Fernanda G. L. Medeiros Borsagli

摘要

Despite fundamental advances in the recent decades of tissue engineering, developing eco-friendly materials represents a crucial challenge to researchers, mainly biomimetic tissue. In this context, searching for green materials for tissue engineering is challenging. In this sense, carboxymethyl chitosan and derivatives-based biomaterials have become an incredible alternative, as they are biocompatible, from a natural source, biodegradable, and low cost. Many types of derivatives of these biopolymers were performed in literature, as these eco-friendly polymers have great potential for many applications, including mimetic tissue for regeneration. This overview presents various researches demonstrating different carboxymethyl chitosan derivatives, their physicochemical properties, their low cost for applications in tissue engineering. In addition, the parameter and characteristics are very important for application in tissue engineering. Based on the literature, it has also been demonstrated that carboxymethyl chitosan and derivatives-based biomaterials exhibit an incredible potential for tissue drug delivery and mimetic tissue, mainly regeneration tissue, indicating their promising solution of low-cost, biocompatible tissue engineering. Decisively, this review demonstrates that these eco-materials present excellent possible use in tissue engineering.
