The Palgrave Encyclopedia of Theoretical and Philosophical Psychology
摘要
The Palgrave Encyclopedia of Theoretical and Philosophical Psychology presents the first comprehensive reference work in this area of research and offers concise entries on the most important topics and persons. It aims both to map the current field and to point to future directions by allowing leading researchers to contribute original ideas to existing debates.
Theoretical and Philosophical Psychology has a strong record of interrogating assumptions that guide the research and practice of psychologists, of deconstructing, reconstructing and constructing psychological ideas, and of demonstrating the relevance of ontic, epistemic, ethical and aesthetic reflexivity in the discipline. Entries in the reference work follow a three-part approach for “entries:” (a) “Background and context” (who, when, where, why, what and how); (b) “Debates and challenges” (critiques, concerns, problems, discussions, developments, modifications); and (c) “Possibilities” (applications, theorizing; “where do we go from here?;” “what does that concept mean/do to address our world today?”). The proposed encyclopedia adds “Possibilities” because it particularly seeks to develop the innovative part of this encyclopedia, adding originality to every entry by demonstrating the relevance of a topic for addressing current pressing societal issues.
