Abstract

The article presents the results of testing the efficiency of simultaneously using two measuring procedures, self-calibration and auto-compensation, in laser image generators with circular scanning to reduce the error of structure synthesis. It is revealed that when using such a strategy, it is prudent to limit the hardware complexity of the self-calibration procedure due to effects of unaccounted sources of distortion. To reduce this emerging limit, it is proposed to use in this setup an optical-mechanical system similar to that used in the calibration of embedded angular sensors. In addition, it is also necessary to continuously monitor and take into account the distorting factors, the contributions of which are unstable over time.
