Numerical Simulation of Silicon Microring Resonator-Based All-Optical Reversible BVF Gate

Abstract
Future computing systems will likely require reversible logic gates since, in the best of circumstances, they are known to provide zero power dissipation. Reversible logic gates also have the advantage of minimizing quantum costs and unused outputs. In this work, an all-optical reversible BVF gate is numerically simulated using silicon microring resonator. Reversible BVF gate is simulated in MATLAB. The proposed reversible gate can be cascaded to design all-optical fan-out gate for partial product generation in the design of reversible multiplier. The evaluation and analysis of a few performance-indicating variables are carried out. For the practical application of the design, optimal design parameters are chosen.
