Automated Calibration of Angle-Measuring Scales with Irregular Structure

Abstract

A calibration technique has been developed and tested for scales with an irregular structure typical for absolute angular sensors based on pseudorandom codes. Experimental calibrations were at the level of \(\pm 2.2^{\prime\prime}\) with an uncertainty of \(\pm 0.5^{\prime\prime}\) , typical for the measuring and diagnostic installation AE.1686 used in this study. The reliability of the calibration results for irregular scales is confirmed by the identity of the resulting curves when compared with the calibration curve of the regular scale formed on another radius in a single technological cycle together with one of the controlled irregular scales.
