Radius of the Electron Orbit in the Focal Plane of a Gaussian Pulse of Circular Polarization
摘要
Abstract
The classical solution to the problem of electron motion in the field of a circularly polarized plane wave is generalized to the case of longitudinal velocity. The use of the developed model together with the description of the motion in the field of a Gaussian pulse makes it possible to determine the dependence of the radius of the electron orbit at the focus on the peak intensity of the pulse and the oncoming velocity of the electron. The dependences of the velocity components at the focus on these parameters are also obtained. The direction of maximum electron emission is determined from the motion parameters. The cause for the equalization of radiation energy by polarization at high counter velocities is clarified.
