Service Life of Porous Functional Coatings

The paper considers the issues of assessing the service life of porous functional coatings. The following main features are taken into account: a small thickness compared to longitudinal and transverse dimensions, interaction between the coating and base materials. Provided that the serviceability of coatings is characterized by the average thickness, adhesive strength, mechanical and other properties, the influence of porosity of the coating material on these parameters is assessed. Using the approaches proposed, the service life of coatings used under different conditions is determined.
